About
HHA
The
Hubbell House Alliance (HHA) is a nonprofit organization formed
in December 2001 by the Committee to Preserve the Hubbell Property.
The Committee, a grassroots community-based collaborative was established
in July 1997 for the purpose of protecting the Hubbell Property
from imminent commercial development.
HHA
is made up of local community members and business people. We are
a public/private partnership with Bernalillo County assisting in
the funding, operations and management of the Hubbell Open Space
property.
The
proposed Hubbell Demonstration Farm and Living History Museum
will provide many benefits to the community including the following:
·
Create an on-the-job training program for South Valley youth that
will provide job skills.
·
Teach local history through the creation of a cultural and agricultural
learning center.
·
Promote economic development for small-scale sustainable agriculture.
·
Foster responsible stewardship of our environment by advocating
organic farming methods.
·
Promote the creation of public and private open spaces and protection
of wildlife habitat.
·
Promote water conservation for agriculture through the use of
drip irrigation systems.
·
Generate tourism revenues from the operation of the Hubbell Farm
and Living History Museum.
